Hailstorm today in time for summerpics promotion!

Even the weatherman is cooperating to provide me with photo ops.  We just had a big thunderstorm/hailstorm pass by.  We got the TV warning to take cover about 10 minutes after it was gone! My idea of taking cover was to stand on the porch and watch. We don't get the golf ball sized hail here so this was pretty good for us. The road looked like a snowstorm.

We set a record for a high temp of 103 on Sunday, the latest in the year it's ever been that hot. Right now it is 53. Quite a difference.

Wow, whenever there is a hailstorm I usually take cover as it makes me think there is a tornado on its way.

Gee...I'm going to run out of pictures, but I wouldn't want to go through that to get some more to post. It sounds scary, although 53 sounds refreshing for about 1 day! I'm going to take pictures of the corn growing when I run out of the ones I already have:)

That's really cool. It's only hailed 3 times that I can remember here(VA). All three times it was the day that we were moving. I should have a camera with me at all times when I move the next time, it's getting rather odd.

oh Wilma... this was exciting... all of us are breaking records around the u.s....
we are dealing with T.S.Fay and she's a really nasty girl... tons of rain and wind and beach erosion and flooded homes and, well you get the picture... whew...

Hail is also a 4 letter word. 103 to 53 is major and not good for your body.

You should have gone out, wearing tin foil hat of course, and let the gently falling hail massage your body, or if it knocked you down made you look like a lawn ornament.

Wow, that's quite a drop in temperature. I can't believe you got a hail storm in the middle of summer! That's really weird weather. o_0

Wow, that is a lot of hail! I love weather like that, as long as the hail is small and not hurting things. That was quite an adventure, eh? Nice post, and great pictures!

Glad to know you weren't hit by any of the hair Wilma, and always have that camera ready. I need to go for a walk to get some summer pictures, lol, could always take a picture of my car, out the window, lol, What a temperature drop, It is funny weather here too, cold in the fifties at night and in the mid eighties during the day, gets warm around this time of day, not much breeze right now. Good luck with all the pictures.

William, I'll keep that in mind for the future. Probably my grandkids WOULD like to run out in the hailstorm in a tin foil hat!

We get hailstorms every so often. They certainly aren't rare but we don't get golf ball sized hail. This was a bigger amount than usual.

Oh my gosh, Wilma, that is crazy weather! I read a post the other day complaining about somebody posting shots of their snow covered lawn for the "Summerpics Promotion". It is too funny, because they probably were talking about this article but hadn't read it to realize that it was hail not snow! You got some good shots there.
