The bees were humming,
And down in the garden,
I heard the blue faeries
murmuring.
"Wee faeries do not swim
in gossamer blue" said
Julia to Sage in a wise
little voice. "A wee one
needs a vest of lime green
to hold her aloft in the
water so blue."
And so the two faeries
changed out of their
gowns and donned a
swimming suit in no
time at all.
Refreshed by the water
Swimming quite free
Like little frogs and fishies
three, out on the dock
they did come and had
snacks of granola and
juicy skinless plums.
Laughing again and blowing
bubbles the faeries were
happy and carefree.
"Look, Nana, here's one for you."

I am curious about the leaves (?) floating in the lake. Is this a cranberry bog? Can you swim where cranberries grow? Being way down here in the South, I don't see cranberry habitats.
The "leaves" in the pond are lilypads. Yes, you can swim in the ponds....but not reservoirs. In the fall they flood the cranberry bogs for wet picking...but otherwise they are dry with ditches running through them.
