Visiting Niagara Falls

Everytime someone comes to visit I always take them to see Niagara Falls as it is only 30 minutes from where I live.  There are actually three sets of falls, the American Falls, the Bridal Falls (which are very small) and the Canadian Falls, also called the Horseshoe Falls. 

It's a beautiful area with many tourist attractions including the Maid of the Mist, a boat that takes you past the American Falls into the ring at the bottom of the Canadian Falls.  Another favorite is the Cave of the Winds, a stairway that takes you up close and personal to the edge of the Falls.

I went to the falls a few times years ago. It was great. Would love to go again but since I'm now disabled, I don't think I can. Great pics.

Nice pictures. I have lived in Queens and Long Island all my life and never went to the falls. I need to go. BTW, I think I see your blue hair in the pic or is that a reflection of the poncho?

I've always wanted to go visit Niagara Falls, but I've never made it. I'm all the way across the country, though. So, it's not a short trip for me like it is for you. Beautiful pictures!

I've only been to the falls one time. And that was years ago with my senior class.
Someday I plan on going back.. Preferably when my boys are a little older, so they can enjoy it:)

beautiful! its easy to forget how pretty it is when you live so close, i grew up in NF NY and now live in Fort Erie Ontario. I try to play 'tourist' at least once a year!

I highly recommend the Maid of the Mist. Nothing let's you feel the power and beauty of the falls like it does. The boat is taken right into the gorge of the Canadian Falls.
I'm glad you did this photo essay because I have never had the opportunity to go to Niagara Falls and your photos have given me a chance to enjoy it.

I was there during the chilly winter of 1976...it was beautiful. First time I ever saw ice-covered trees. Little did I know I would end up where silver thaws come with the warm rain after a cold snap, and result in...ice-covered trees.

I love to go to Niagara Falls. But once we need a passport to go to and through Canada, I guess we won't be going there anymore. We like to zip over to Canada often so the passport thing is disturbing to me! They are so expensive. Also, I can't take my pit bull through Ontario.
