It very well may not be sinister, it may be to not give free imagery to the russans, and if so I agree... for instance Click here this is a link of the maping of georgia area, no roads and no city names.... or Click here this is link to the satalite image of the same area... and in this I have zoomed in when I was looking and I see no tanks, so I suspect this is old imagery not recent... again to protect I hope Georgians...

Google is definately not perfect.
I've been thinking whether or not Google is wrong to conform to the laws required of them by certain countries. At first I was against them. I know the are quite liberal and I am of a conservative persuasion. But lately ... I'm thinking it isn't their responsibility or right to try to meddle or make demands. I may change my mind tomorrow. I'm on the fence.
I think he is refering to the imagery from Google Earth, not the prose stuff.

I just got off the Google Earth images, and he is correct, the roads are not labled, few city names... what I was surprised to see was that the YouTube locations are there, and link to the pictures/videos submitted from that region. MOST interesting!
