Best Halloween Costume you Ever wore?

So my family and I are beginning to get very excited as Halloween is just around the corner. I always think of past costumes and what my kids should every year. The costume choices each year are all so different but we always have our favorites. I was just wondering what everyones choice might be? favorite costume for you or your child or both?

MIne was when i was a present. i know not a typical halloween costume, but definately fun for me. My mom cut holes in a large box and wrapped it like a present and then i got in a walked around in it. The box had a head hole, arm holes and leg holes.

I was a ghost once. It was practical and easy to carry my loot when I was younger.... :) Does that count?

Back in 2004, I put together a real cheerleading uniform off eBay. I bought it in bits and pieces, but it was great- I had the turtleneck body suit, the bloomers, the skirt, the shell (actually, it came with 2), the jacket, and the pom poms. I loved it! I think over all, I paid around $45 for it, piece by piece. In 2005, I resold it all as 1 set, and was able to get $110 back on it, because it was a full uniform.

My most vivid memories were when I was dressed as E.T., a cat costume made by my grandmother, and one when I was dressed as a cheerleader.

my all time favorite for myself..and I never did dress upmuch for halloween...was the year I worked at a rock and roll bar( many years ago) an it was required that we dress up....
I took a vintage black lace dress and attached black webbing from my wrists up under the arm and down the dress,....got an old velvet pill box hat and added a black tullee poofy veil and had spiders crawling about everywhere(not real ones) It was perfect for the circumstances....

now when my boys were young....I made it a point to make their costumes every year....They would pick out a mask or one piece of the costume...and then together we would create the character out of what we had...
my boys still make their own costumes every year....even as adults...and they are serious about it...LOL....

I think my favorite for my kids was the year my daughter wanted to dress up as a hippie. So I made her a vest with peace signs all over it, a head band with beads and little sun glasses. She won first place in her school contest. As for me, my husband and I dress every year in our Renaissance gear, we look like a lord and a lady. I must say, corsets are more comfortable than you would think. Peace

Halloween was always second only to Christmas in terms of anticipation, excitement and planning. My kids planned next year's costumes while they sorted their candy. One year, my daughter and her dad made a Banana in Pajamas costume for her and it is my all time favorite costume. Here's a picture: Banana

I'm not sure, but as we cleaned up mom's basement to move in I washed up and boxed up kinds of things the kids can choose from, including a dress army uniform, a Brahms shirt, hat and apron and costumes that had been worn in the past. We can't afford to buy so we have always made due the best we could.

I got my son a knights costume with a crown on the mesh helmet part last year that was great, all his aunts and uncle called him King James. He is six, my grandson 2 had the dragon costume on so it was like Sir George and the Dragon kind of thing too.

My favorite costume was when I was eight years old. My mom made me a homemade costume - I was a black cat - and she rigged it up somehow with a piece of wire that every time I lifted my arms, my tail would wag. LOL

My mother dressed like a man that year - borrowing her fathers suit and painting on a beard bushy eyebrows. My father dressed as a woman - he wore a purple dress and high heels with nylons. My mother did his makeup. Funny thing was that they were supposed to go to a halloween party and they went to the wrong place - ending up at a Bingo hall full of old people...well one of the men chased my father out to the car, trying to get his number!
