Summer days

what a glorious summer it's been! i've been inspired by soule mama's blog to take a photo every day to commemorate summer. we've had such fun - lots of kids over, popsicles galore, swimming all day every day, making things, watching the olympics, and falling into bed at night (sand between the toes) just exhausted!  we've been having so much fun that we forget to eat, and then just gorge on blueberries and fresh peaches until we can't eat any more. we have bonfires at night, watch the stars and eat s'mores. we sail, kayak, slip n' slide (lillie and friends), do art projects, and fill the days with joy.





ed and i have been working hard on our travel site - it's so much fun, and i just keep making friends and finding new places to visit! what a nice problem, eh? we are also having a book giveaway this week - lonely planet is giving away 2 copies of the travel book: a journey through every country in the world (a HUGE book!) to 2 random commenters. we love this book - we've been exploring the world with it. that's the joy of homeschooling - we learn from everything.

as you can see, we've been having lots of fun. i just got 40# of blueberries and so we're making lots of blueberry jam to go with our homemade peanut butter.
