Played today with some of my freshly dried beans and corn from the garden(not to mention the peppers and garlic and tomatoes)!
I hulled these from dry pods, washed them and boiled them till tender.

Had some short ears of corn than I de-cobbed and tossed in garlic olive oil.

My son pulled a few fresh peppers of my plants the other day. This is a bull nose, a jalepeno and a tangerine dream.

A LITTLE fresh Osage garlic to chop!

All diced up and ready for a light roasting!

Heirloom tomatoes! Green striped Zebra, Hughs, Fuzzy Peach, I. Gold, to name a few!

A pinch of cumin, and a tad of salt, some store bought red onion..........
And VOILA' !!!!
I made Chili Mac for dinner tonight and plan on tossing this with some left over pasta for lunch tomorrow!

I did harvest two cucumbers. YUMMY. My tomato plant has three little, hard green things on it. They will surely never turn into red, ripe tomatoes! Maybe i can dig them up and plant them in the family room under a grow light and harvest them by thanksgiving!
:-)
Ellie and I are on our way... better have the adoption papers ready, Lou Anne!

Thats the nice thing about heirloom tomatoes...so many colors...they all taste great, big or small....
Roc...was winning thisyear about "red" tomatoes...but still he has been nabbing two or three tomatoes everyday for his lunvh box...seems one of his bosses has taken an interest in what I do( cause he gardens)
My tomatoes are just about done for the year...but the cow peas for this fall are about two foot high under them....
