My husband and I sailed the Norfolk Broads with my parents when we were newly courting.

I remember sitting in the bow of the boat doing crosswords,

and leaping out to help when we went through locks.

More than 30 years ago! I feel old.

But it was lovely to visit again this summer.

We even made it to the north Norfolk coast,

near where they filmed the final scene in Shakespeare in Love.

The boys were bored, but we loved it.

Thank you for sharing them with us here on Gather!!
Life On The Reservation, much appreciated.
I do love the skies in the pictures and the beach looks great too, Of course England must have lots of beaches, never thought of that before. Love all the pictures and your sons, well you know how kids are.
The boys were bored? Ha ha, they will remember though... ;-)
Thanks.
This is a beautiful photoessay. I will come back and look at the images seperately. I am late for an appointment in town.
This was lovely, lovely, lovely! You captured a glorious sky with even more glorious clouds in some of these photos, and I love the water, the boats, the huge tree, and the birds. Wonderful, how you've brought so much into this with such brevity of words and beautiful photos.
*I could easily envision you doing crosswords. What a great place for that! Thanks, Sheila. This was very nice.
so much fun..what lovely vistas..and is that lavender growing along the road?
thank you,Sheila for taking me along!
My limited experiences with the beaches in England were that the water was so cold, you were better off remaining on the beach!
