My wife said a funny on McCain!

We were fixing dinner, and there was a talking head on TV saying that McCain is "the original maverick" of political life. "No he isn't" quipped my wife. "James Garner was the original Maverick". Ha!

I just thought you might enjoy this as a rare example of political humor that works no matter what your leanings may be. My wife can be very funny.

If you do not get the humor here, obviously you did not watch TV westerns in the 1960s.

Yup, there was something irresistably droll about Garner's persona. He was good in "Support your local Sheriff" too.
Actually, the other Maverick brother in that show was Jack Kelly, right? Wow, I am really dating myself here.....

I really don't look on McCain as a maverick of any type. I remember James Garner, and he was handsome, brave, and witty, none of which describe McCain. He is too old, has been through too much trauma, and never smiles.

Claudia, well yeah. He is not the "original maverick", he is not even "a maverick" anymore, if he ever was one.
But I meant to stick to humor this time, so I will limit the politics to that.

Pretty funny. MY son's first joe was about fixing dinner, "I said Dad's fixing dinner, and he asked why, is it broken?" He was 3.
