Welcome Because of all the Sandwiches There members and honored guests.
"When I was in kindergarten, I had one line in a little play. I said, I am Patrick Potato and this is my cousin, Mrs. Tomato, and I heard laughter. I wanted to be an actress from that moment on."

We here at Because of all the Sandwiches There strive to bring you all the most relevant and up to date sandwich news so I plan to tell you about at least one of my favorite sandwiches every day in August. I know, I know. It's a lot, but variety is the spice of life!
Today I share one of my favorites for any meal, and especially for folks who looking for ways to use up an abundance of garden tomatoes.

Broiled Cheese and Tomato
I'm always thinking about sandwiches (I usually eat at least one per day) and love being able to use up all the fresh tomatoes that are coming this time of year. We had some leftover French bread that I sliced and then topped with pepperjack cheese, fresh tomato slices, sea salt and cracked pepper. The funny thing was that when we turned on the broiler, we found that the element had died so we ended up baking these at 475 just until the cheese was melty. It worked out fine and the bread was nice and crunchy. Be sure to check out Marianne M's

Thanks for posting to The Cookbook.
This is one of my favorite sandwiches, Susan! It is wonderfully tasty and you've made it even more enticing by using "pepperjack cheese, fresh tomato slices, sea salt and cracked pepper".
