The FDA just issued a new warning about a potentially serious drug interaction. If you take amiodarone (Cordarone, Pacerone) and simvastatin (Zocor, Vytorin), talk with your doctor about switching to a different statin. I have to believe that patients' prescriptions must be in a database that can be easily accessed, and the physician should be able to determine if there is potential for harm through these various drug interactions before they are prescribed, or would a pharmacist be a better authority?
