I'm home safe and sound from Atlantic City once again. :) I did even better on this trip than I did on the last one! Hubby can attest to the fact that I only had one VERY minor anxiety attack the whole time I was in AC! Yeay me!
So, we stayed at the Borgata this time. (or, the "Beh-gah-ta" as they say in Jersey).

Oh yeah, baby. It's purple! :)
The Borgata is the shit, y'all. Well, maybe not quite as great as some of the places in Vegas, but hey, can't complain for being on the east coast. It's THE best hotel to stay at in Atlantic City, hands down. It smells soooo good inside because they pump in some sort of aromatherapy. My pillow still smells like the Borgata. Here is the front entrance...

There's all these crazy glass sculptures all over the place. All the floors are marble, including the walkways. Love it!

There are little shops and restaurants everywhere, and it is decorated very tastefully (which I can't say about most of the casino/hotels in AC). Hubby and I had some KICK-ASS steak at this restaurant called the Old Homestead. It sounds quaint, but it is far from it. Very fancy. We ate upstairs, and while we were there, some dude proposed to his girlfriend. :) How romantic. She bawled and cried for about 1/2 hour while we were eating.
Anywho...

We also ate twice at the Metropolitan, which is a restaurant that stays open 24/7. Perfect for us, since we're night owls. They food there is good and they give you TONS of it!
Hubby wasn't there yet when I arrived at the Borgata. He was still taking care of some family business while I waited about 45 minutes for him. It's too bad because he missed my gasp of delight when I walked into our room...

Imagine a 20-foot rounded window covering the entire wall of one side of the room with a view of the entire city! Yeay! King sized bed and GIGANTIC bathroom all marble. It had a deep soaking tub and a 2-person shower! So nice! Thanks, baby, for upgrading us. :) Our suite totally rocked!
My Pookie also hooked me up with a pedicure while I was there. The spa at the Borgata is really nice, and it was heaven to have a bit of pampering.
Before...

After...

Yeah, I know. Kinda gross, but hey! it's my article!
Oh yeah, and guess who was at the spa the same time as me??
A very famous singer in the 80s...
Not Madonna...
Not Tiffany...
CINDY LAUPER!!!!
Yeah, the spa ladies were running around like morons trying to pamper her and cater to her every whim. This one spa lady stepped on my foot while Cindy (or Cynthia as she liked to be called in the spa) stood 1 foot away from me choosing black fingernail polish for her own pedicure. Yeah, I was pissed. Not Cindy's fault, but whatever. Don't they know who I am????? LOL!
So, that's the second famous person we have run into on our travels. The first one was Chris Rock at the Mandarin Oriental in Washington DC. Oh yeah, I forgot that the girl (that the dude tries to have sex with on the internet camera) from American Pie was at Hubby's table in Las Vegas (can't remember her name, but the Hubs could tell you). Also, throw a few famous poker pros in the mix. That's how we do, though. Right, baby? Hobnobbing with the rich and famous. Hee hee!
I was VERY tearful the day I left. Knowing that I wouldn't see M for another week was pretty depressing. But, most of all, I just hate leaving him in Atlantic City all by himself. He's pretty stressed out these days... Kinda having a bad run at the cards. The grind just gets to him sometimes. It's not all glamorous, the poker life that he leads. He's playing in the World Poker Tour Borgata Summer Open this week. I'm thinking of driving back up there on Wednesday just to keep him company. Shirley at the barn has asked me to condition Angel this week in preparation of the horse camps coming up... so, I don't know how it's all going to work out...
All I know is that I miss my baby. I don't sleep without him. I don't eat right. Blah. I love him so much and am so proud of his poker skills and how far he's come in the past 4 years. :) Thank goodness he'll be here next week!
At least Max is worry and stress free...

LOL! Ahhh, the life of a cat. So difficult.
Have a great week, y'all!

Sounds like you had a blast. I have never been to Atlantic City. I have never even really gambled.
