We had so much stockpiled that I haven't really made a "major" shopping trip in a while. We've also really been watching our pennies, so we've been only buying absolute necessities. Additionally, I just haven't come across too many coupons that we really could use.
Last week I got a great mailer full of coupons from Kroger and today I used a bunch of them! I still have about 10 that I can use between now and the end of October, so as I need those items, I'll use those coupons. I also used some of my other coupons, that I combined with the Kroger sales and specials.
I had one coupon to save $2 with $7 purchase of fresh poultry (I bought some that had just been marked down and saved an additonal $3 off the pack of chicken), one for $1.75 off a 16" Private Selection pizza (from the deli - not frozen) and save $10 off $100 purchase. Kroger also was running dozens of items at 10/$10 (many of the items ended up being almost ½ their regular price). Another great benefit was the Nestle company promotion Kroger was running this week: spend $20 on numerous products and receive $5 off your total bill-this included tons of stuff ranging from candy to Deer Park bottled water.
I also took advantage of one of the Kroger coupons that enabled me to save $2.00 on a 12 pack of water when I purchased a 24 pack. My husband drinks bottled water on his job so we buy a lot of it. This promotion brought the price about $1.00 less than the cheapest cost he had found. I also had 6 cloth bags so I received a $.30 off my bill. (I can't resist commenting that the very young cashier had to use her fingers to figure out that 6x.05 = 30----Yikes!!!)
Altogether, taking advantage of the two promotions Kroger had, using the coupons Kroger sent me and my other coupons I combined with their sales I saved $39.18 - or almost 30% on my grocery bill. Plus . . . I will fill up my tank for $.10 off next time I fill up (I didn't have time to do it today) - that'll be $3.33 per gallonJ

great deals!
Congrats
I only had one coupon this week and it was $2 off the shopping order. We only bought a few things this week as I did all my produce shopping at the farmers market and we had all our meats that I bought at Costco last weekend. Just needed a few sale items.
So we saved with the club card at the supermarket and then I used my $2 off coupon.
I have another for next week but it expires on Saturday.
You did really well. Good job!
I filled up today for $3.48/gallon
Dana, 32% is awesome!
