I rarely post politically oriented stuff but may allow a peep out in a poem. St Louis as is Kansas City are the progressive areas of Missouri. You can easily find open thinking people in those areas and even if our political views are different we can still have a decent conversation. As a rule once you get outside those areas you find yourself stuck in a non wavering cess pool of frozen thought. Abortion is a sin and there is no reason for them. "NONE". Democrats only want your money. Only a republican can think. Republicans want small government and less intrusion in your life.
You may as well speak to a tree for the type responses one gets in trying to speak to one of them. If you are not of that order in thinking you must keep your mouth shut if you wish to live in the areas where that non thinking exist. I walked into a bait shop with an Obama tee shirt on and the whole place feel silent instantly. I have to always be aware I am black and be on the alert for some foul comment but that day it was double jeopardy. I inflicted them with my political flavor, got my worms and minnows and walked out while saying, "yawl have a good day now hear." I laughed on the way down to the river.

Outstate Missouri is infested with seriously non thinking folks who see no reason to justify anything they do even to their own detriment. The republican governor ran on a ticket saying he was going to stop all the fraud in family and children's services and wipe out Medicare fraud. His mind set told him those blacks were just ruining a good thing. Within a short time he had cut back Medicare aid by nearly 20% and booted off about 150,000 poor folks. After a few months of people suffering and a couple big news paper investigations it was discovered that the biggest sufferers where poor whites in small communities who had little or no access to medical care. It was found that the fraud was mostly medical providers who were billing for services not received and for meds never dispensed. So much for public fraud.

An intelligent person would consider some sort of control and checks and balance on the providers. Nope, governor Blunt continued on with his slash and burn policy until the big cities exposed his BS. Now that many have been put back on the roles a federal investigation is in process and those yo yos are bitching cause the big bad government is looking over their shoulders. Even though lots of them are suffering a lack of medical availability they are so glad that a few of those black cheats are off the roles.

At least in and around St Louis you can easily find open thinking folks who can and do express good thoughts even if one disagrees but in the rural areas I wonder how some even exist.
