Vacation time!

     Well tomorrow is my lucky day! I will be going away for 8 days and can not wait! I am going to visit my home state of South Carolina. I have been extremely homesick lately. I get this way about every 4 months. That is why I take my vacations April, August, and December. This way I do not suffer for any long period of time.

     We have a few trips planned when we go to South Carolina. I will be staying at my mothers house in North Augusta. We are going to go to Hunting Island State Park which is a small island off the coast of South Carolina. We used to vacation there every year when I was a child. One year we camped for a month straight. The island is full of natural beauty.

     There are a lot of critters there too. We have seen Deer, Squirrels, and even Alligators in the marshes there. It is a stunning place and a great family adventure. There is a grand Lighthouse that you can go up into. I have yet to reach the top. I get to the second landing and chicken out. YES I am afraid of heights and Claustrophic on top of that.

     In the mornings as a child I would get up really early. Once we saw a sea turtle lay her eggs. You always find stranded starfish and large shells with creatures still inside. We always helped these sea creatures back into the water . We always enjoyed that as children and felt like natures heroes...

     I am looking forward to sharing this with my children. They have never been and it is such a wonderful place I felt it was time that they both could enjoy it! We also have a few other little excursions planned. We will visit the river walk on the Savannah River. We always do this. It is a beautiful place to see all sorts of beautiful flowers, and the scenic views are amazing.

     I will get to spend a week with my sister who lives in Arizona. Believe it or not I have not seen her in 5 years. She has not been able to visit back east at the same times I go to visit my mother until this year. Until this year I had not even considered visiting Arizona but I am thinking I might just get out west after all!I am so looking forward to this vacation.

     I will stop by gather and upload some photos if I have a chance. I may not be able to until I get back home. Mom only has a modem hook up and that is extremely slow compared to what I am used to. So everyone don't think I have abandoned viewing your photos and articles. I am just taking a much needed break.
