Corsi's The Obama Nation filled with falsehoods

It looks like the attacks are getting worse and worse. You'd think the candidates would remember the sour taste the 2004 campaigns left in voter's mouths.

Why do you thing all those magazines and tabloids are at your supermarket checkout stand? People like those lies. They want someone to give them an excuse for their fears. The American voter demands to be lied to.

Sadly, "truth" is unimportant to an appallingly high number of people. What they want is a book like Corsi's to validate what they already think, feel, or believe. They feel safer in the herd - and the book gives them an "authority" they can point to and say, "See? I'm right!" We really haven't done enough to teach logic and critical thinking in this country.

Why is it that people continuously get away with slanderous and libelous remarks when it is about politicians? I am pretty sure the Freedom of Speech doesn't cover this. You can say I don't like John McCain, but If I said John McCain is overly fond of farm animals (cleaned up) then by all rights if I cant prove it I should be sued. Tell my which President once told his campaign he wanted to make that allegation against an opponent and when told he couldn't do it since it isn't true, the reply was "I know that I just want to see him deny it.)
