For the record... there is absolutely *NO HONOR* in *DISHONORING* our troops. Not everyone who is serving in our military, or ever has, is a criminal or guilty of war crimes. Not everyone is a "baby killer" or killer of "innocents."
People who constantly bash our troops and their families, for "supporting" a war... Need to realize that, if you are enlisted in the US Military Forces, you have to go where you are told, or you risk jail-time, or worse.
Yes, a few "bad apples" commit war crimes... But isn't "generalizing" and assuming that ALL soldiers are criminals, just as bad as commiting those crimes? C'mon people, most of these men and women are anything *BUT* criminals.
The ones who scream the loudest about "criminals" and "baby killers" are the ones who don't have the guts to wear the uniform in the first place. In my opinion, far more honorable to be WILLING to wear the uniform and DIE for a total stranger or my country, than to dishonor those that ARE willing to do it.
My husband is anything *BUT* a criminal or a "baby-killer", and I know for a fact if he were confronted with a child in "enemy" territory, he'd do everything in his power to keep from hurting that child. EVEN IF THAT CHILD HAD A BOMB STRAPPED TO HIM/HER.
My husband would take a bullet or a bomb before *EVER* harming an innocent. And he damn sure wouldn't SPIT on someone just because he didn't like something that he thought they were DOING/SUPPORTING.
MOST OF OUR TROOPS ARE LIKE MY HUSBAND- Doing their jobs, praying to God this war will be over soon, doing their best not to harm anyone, and at the same time, sacrificing their time (away from home, friends, family, etc) and even their lives- just so others can have the rights that they do.
Oh, and if someone doesn't like the war, why not take it up with the president??? Since when is it our soldiers' fault or their families' fault??? If *YOU* don't like the war... Take it to someone who can STOP it. *I* have no power over it, neither does my husband or any other military service member or their family.

Dream, dream dream. As if he would listen or cares......
Tony,
Why don't you go somewhere else and annoy somebody else? Is this how you get your jollies, tracking down Ms. Samantha's posts to post your drivel? You never did respond to my challenges either.
Samantha,
Remember to those who matter, people like you and your husband ARE heroes to the majority of us.
I always thought it was CONGRESS that voted to declare war, I never knew the president could declare war all on his own. Geez, just goes to show you.
Now this article here "No HONOR in DISHONORING Our Troops" is marked as adult/mature language or whatever... and I see that Tony S. has found it too. This whole thing has become ridiculous and annoying...
I suggest you drop a line to the site admins camly and reasonably explain what's going on. They'll have the resources to know who's doing the flagging, and the power to make it stop. Don't be a victim.
Amen! I completely agree. My husband ended his 6 years active duty in the Army last October. He now contracts for the Army doing the same thing he was doing before, but making more money doing it - and he leaves to go to Iraq for a year in October. I have no problem with it. I was in the Navy for a very short time, and I receive VA benefits - as well as my husband. We are proud of the service, even though we have some little annoyances with some of the soldiers. And I DO mean 'some' - more like the new ones who don't seem to realize the importance of their jobs . . . yet . . Actually, I have to be honest. I get MORE angry with the soldiers who act like they are still in High School and don't seem to care about their specific job and where it fits in with everything (hubby's a helicopter mechanic, and if they make a mistake - well, lives can be lost and some of the new mechanics don't seem to realize that), than I do about civilians who like to say "Why did you go in the military? You're smarter than that - let the people who can't get real jobs go in the military."
Okay, that's a lie. That makes me angry as well. Because of the military, we have been in the presence of some of the most honorable, intelligent men and women that I have and will EVER meet - and they have my full respect!
*sigh* okay, I'm finished now. :)
Oh, and by the way. We DO support the war . . . . . . . .
Are you really saying that we, meaning the US, are responsible for killing one out of every 27 or so Iraqis? Wow, that's like almost 421 people killed a day every day. Are you including the people killed by the insurgents? The civilian workers killed by the terrorists, The US and Coalition troops as well? Are you including the terrorist/insurgents? Or is this just some number you've made up? I find no reference to 420+ people dying in Iraq everyday on any news channel, Neither on NBC, CBS, FOX, MSNBC, CNN, nor even the BBC; so, where do you get your information?
Now, I am not denying that there have been civilians killed, including by mistake and those caught in the crossfire or on a bomb strike. We have gone out of our way to prevent civilian deaths. Our weaponry is 10's of to 1000's of times more accurate than that which was used in WWII, Korea, or Vietnam. Let me ask you again, since you seemed to have missed this question the last time...
Do you think that those we are engaged in fighting over in Iraq would attempt to have as few civilian casualties as the Coalition has done?
"Pops"
"Yes, in retrospect, considering all the Innocent Iraqi children who's blood has been spilled on their mothers so you could come on gather and whiiiiine (sic) and bellyache about being spit on.
Thats what you get when you support the murder of innocent ppl (sic) based on hokey BS.
Dont (sic) like it? Blame yourself. You cry about your children and you being spit on, but you dont (sic) give one rats (sic) ass about the millions of *DEAD INNOCENTS* in a country that did nothing to you"
Uh....now it is in the plural MILLIONS, My goodness where DO you get your insider information?
"Tony does not care. simple as that. "
I can guess we already knew that...except where his and his own are concerned. What ever happened to altruism (you go ahead and look that one up, I'll wait)
"Or will you sit here rubbin' (sic) each others backsides making yourselves feel better for supporting a million innocent deaths? "
Well you're backing down in the numbers.
"wouldn't spit on you, no, because it would be a waste of spit. However, if someone spit on you because you support the murder if a million innocents, then its no sweat off my back.
As for your kids. I pity them. I HOPE for them, they dont (sic) grow to be as narrow minded as their mother. "
Hope you kid or kids aren't as narrow minded as you either. Ooops, you're quoting that one million number again.
"...but you dont (sic) understand how someone can spit on you for supporting the murder of innocent men, women and CHILDREN."
You know, Tony, I've searched many of your postings and no where do I find any sort of outrage at the terrorists killing innocent civilians, no rage at the murders of people like Dan Berg, the bombings in the UK, the attacks on this country. why not?
"Pops"
"Viet Nam, Korea, or World War II, in which many, MANY thousands of civilians died in attacks and carpet bombings and fire bombings of military targets. War is, HELL. The US has tried to limit innocent casualties in waging these. I defy anyone, including you Tony, to prove to me that the enemy we fight over there would be as "considerate" of the civilians involved were the situation to be changed. I defy anyone, especially you Tony, to prove to me that any of our captured soldiers have been or would be treated as well and as fairly as any of those we have held as POW's. Before you bring up Abu Gharib I'll counter with the civilian technicians who were captured, tortured, shot/hung from the bridge in Baghdad, I'll bring up Richard Pearl, I'll remind....well you get the point."
Now, sir, a direct challenge to you to answer both of my questions.
Obviously you found the response to "do my worst," but you STILL haven't answered the questions, You have NOT provided verifiable sources for you claim of 1,000,000 children, innocents, whatever you choose to call them. I don't deny that there have been unfortunate casualties, never have, never will. I just want to know where you get your numbers.
Additionally you call Ms. Samantha a liar for her saying a woman spit on her for wearing her husband's dog tags, yet you take umbrage at my comment of being hypocritical.
I doubt your credibility because you decline to cite sources, probably as much as you doubt mine. Also, I never claimed any ties with AQ or 9/11. Yellow cake has been found and removed from Iraq but that was from Saddam's earlier attempt to gain WMD.
BYW, I am proud to be a grandpa!
Let me ask you one more question, which you most likely not answer, if you had captured a terrorist who was directly involved with placing a nuclear device or a large "dirty" bomb in one of our major cities, say even your own town, and you had six hours in which to get the location out of him to defuse the bomb, what would you do with him? Negotiate or hold a blow torch to his feet?

I have seen so much arrogance and ignorance. It's really sad.
A country where we walk on the same soil yet, are so divided in our thoughts.
Whether the subject is politics or the war or the combination of both, as they are one in the same.
People resorting to name calling... like Cupcake, Ass, Pops, Grandpa, etc....
As if we were children in a school yard. It's rediculous and it turns my stomach.
Samantha... no one has the right to spit at you... insult you, etc...
Your husband puts his life on the line every single day. It takes a special person to be able to do that. It takes so much bravery to be you, raising a family and keeping the faith that he will come home to you.
Perhaps if some could walk just a mile in a soldiers boots... They would be entitled to an opinion on the subject.
My son leaves in Oct. to begin his journey with the Marines.
I'm scared to death... for what he may face in his future.
I'm extremely proud that he is the kind of person who will put his life on the line for a stranger.
Ignorance is bliss? Not even a little bit.
And the ignorance that I have seen from these Armchair Warriors... is disgusting.
They can't just decide when to go to work or not, their job is 24/ 7 with very little sleep and no real down time. I pray for Blessings to you and your husband Samantha, and pray for him and you that he comes back safely home to you. I prayed for mine, and my son, and they did, but many don't . and the ones that dishonor our troops are the ones to chicken to be doing it themselves, Your article is wonderful.
I kinda like being called "Pops" or "Grandpa" Although I would rather have had an answer to my question.
Pops
Thank your husband from me for his service to our country... stay well sweetie...
