This is for the 100 word stories group. The prompt this week is the symbol of hopes and dreams - the Olympic rings.

The five Olympic rings. They have come to represent hopes and dreams. It's interesting, isn't it, that for the one person whose dreams come true for twenty more dreams became nightmares. I belong to the latter group. The rings no longer symbolize dreams, hopes or wishes. They simply remind me that I was not good enough.
I went to the Olympics with high hopes. I thought I could do it. A medal was in sight. One missed landing though. That's all it took. One missed landing for my dream to become a nightmare. Now no one even remembers my name.

One missed landing, thats all it took for my dreams to become nightmares. Combine those three sentences near the ending and add other words to make your 100 words. It will be stronger.
I think this is a good piece and very interesting. If this was a memoir, remember you made it there. That is special and most don't have that prestige. Write on! you're going to be a good wrtier.
