THE WOMEN'S ART FESTIVAL 2008 - KINGSTON, ONTARIO

This Sunday, August 17th is the Women's Art Festival in Kingston Ontario. I have been double timing myself producing work to show at this festival. I paint on slate.



I sell my slate signs in gift stores, wineries and places of interest in the Niagara Region of Ontario and  New York State. When I was new in the business I participated in all the local shows and enjoyed it. That is until I realized there were a couple, and I mean a couple of shows that were my favorites. I not only made good money at these shows but they were packed with people and a ton of fun. This is one of them.

The Women's Art Festival is packed full of original art of all kinds, all done by women, music done by women all day long and fantastic food sold by a local restaruant called THE SLEEPLESS GOAT from Kingston.



It's free to the public and we vendors give 20% iof our sales to the festival (plus a $25 entry fee) and the festival gives it out to Women and Children's Charities in the Kingston area.



For years good friends from Syracuse, NY have come up for the show and to visit with me and go out ot dinner after the show. This year my sister Elaine will be joining us too. My daughter Christina opens her home to me and is my right hand women during the show.



Now all I need from you Gather Friends is to wish for a sunny day and good crowds for us all. Anyone in the area who wants to stop by and say "Hello" is welcome. With the photos in this photo essay, you know what my space looks like!



I've been almost too busy getting ready for the show to be on Gather like I want to be. When the show is over and I'm home again I'll be returning your comments.
