I have done something not very original. I have started my own blog. The name of my blog is Blacktating and it's all about breast feeding! I started the blog back in April, when my son was 5 months old and nursing was on my mind a lot. As a woman, I understand the importance of breast feeding and I take my responsibility to my son very seriously. He needs and deserves to be breastfed. I know that a lot of moms out there don't have the support and access to information that I had, so I wanted to create a space where we could talk about breastfeeding, offer each other support and congratulate each other on our commitment to providing the best nutrition for our babies. As a mom of color, this is even more important. Black babies are, unfortunately, the least likely to be breastfed. I hope that I can play a small part in changing that sad statistic.
I also have a store on my blog. I sell baby carriers and soon I'll have a line of onesies and T-shirts and hopefully down the line bottles and other baby accessories. Come check out my space, share your experiences and connect with some other like-minded moms in the blogosphere!
