My sister called me about an hour ago in complete awe. She told me to go look at our father's girlfriend's MySpace page because her current "mood" on myspace was "excited" because apparently her status is now "newly engaged."
Hmph.
Thanks for telling us, dad.
I am so angry for so many reasons. My dad couldn't have told us about this first before allowing his girlfriend to publish it to the world wide web? This is the FIRST I have heard of an engagement or even of my dad having thoughts about getting married!
Secondly, does his girlfriend have a brain in her head? Does she not know that my sister and I have no knowledge of this so-called engagement? How could she be accepting congratulations from her friends on MySpace before my sister and I were even informed of this news.
:(
I feel so betrayed.
My dad knows about all of the significant events that go on in our lives... Is it too much to ask for that common courtesy back??? I just don't understand how we could mean so little to him so that we are the last to know.
This just tops off this year. I swear. 2007-2008 has been the weirdest so far. So many cataclysmic events have happened to my family in the past 12 months... This is just too much.
Dad's girlfriend's "big announcement" was made on her MySpace page at 11 a.m. this morning. Sissy and I have yet to get a phone call. We have decided that we are going to wait for that phone call and see how long it takes for him to tell us.
I feel like crying.
And hubby isn't answering his phone because he's busy with his mom right now. :(

I'll bet he thinks the wedding just happens too. LOL
Don't take it so personally as it wasn't HIM who did it but HER.
I'm sorry for your hurt. Hopefully you will find out soon and it can be an exciting family event to celebrate. If not, just remember that some things aren't worth breaking up a family for and I'm going to guess in the big picture it's not going to be worth it, right? (((HUGS)))
I have to say, I'm sort of leaning towards what Beverly said too... if they did indeed get engaged, he probably didn't think she'd go immediately and blast it online. I hope he tells you guys soon, so you can get this sorted out. I would expect my parents to tell me directly themselves, too.
Thank you for posting to my group Tryingfor3000
