While driving to and from the Georgia Geocachers Annual Snake show on Saturday, I had the opportunity to find 8 other geocaches. This was the first stop on my way to the event and was a pretty cool cache in an urban setting.
ARTSS stands for Art Sandy Springs and both the art and the cache are located on Sandy Springs Library property. The exhibit is part of a year long celebration and you can find out more about this by visiting the official website. The exhibit is free.
The cache was a 50-cal ammocan, something you don't find in a busy location such as this very often. This is the kind of urban caching I love. Show me something cool and unusual. The cache hider did just that too.
I've included photos of many of the artwork pieces that are part of this exhibit below.

It was so nice to see more of the Sandy Springs Turtles available for public display. So many of these were purchased by private owners and are not easily accessible for viewing.

The back of the Picasso Turtle is used as his paint pallet.

I have other photos of this Hare & Dog iron sculpture, but there is too much shadow in them.

I thought a library was the perfect setting for this bronze sculpture.
There were several other pieces scattered about, but photgraphing them was difficult due to all the shadows being cast by the surrounding trees.
Hope you enjoyed these artwork photos. It was a fun cache to find for me.

Those turtles remind me of the Turtle races they have every summer in Texas. Kids decorate turtles backs with all kind of little things and they race them.
Cute.
This was a SUPER essay. Thank you for sharing it with us!

I haven't gone Geocaching in a while, but I need to! I should pick a day and just go! Haven't explored the new area I'm in at all yet, as far as caches go...
:-)
But I do love the sculptures. I don't travel so I would never have gotten to see them if you hadn't shared with us. Thank you.
