God's Warriors
Squeezing the breath
out of my heart
Squeezing the love
out of my mind
Squeezing the life
out of my soul
in your quest to conquer,
constrain, consecrate all
to your narrow creed.
There is no room in your congealed soul
for recognition of the cruel suffering
welcomed by your prayers,
the damage of your arrogant disrespect
upon Creation.
Having built the fires of Hell
to burn your perceived enemy,
letting evil loose upon
the Earth we were meant to share
in peace and prosperity,
proving only that the Word
you claim your guide
you ignorantly ill-define,
expecting salvation
through worshipping sin.

I appreciate the fact that you are changing minds about poetry!
This one is quite powerful.
While I look upon your last lines, . . .
expecting salvation
through worshipping sin.
I realize that those worshipping SIN cannot possibly stand in expectation of SALVATION for they know not of it ~ have no concept of what it is ~ nor do they care to know.
GOOD POEM.
Blessings ~

I know people of my own persuasion would be the subject for many people while I look out toward people of yet other persuasions.
Very well done.
