Today has been a pretty lonely day. Hubby headed back to Atlantic City after being home for weeks now! Just when I started getting used to him being here all the time, he leaves! At least he'll be home on Tuesday and have the boys with him. So, we'll have a fun week this coming week playing with the boys. I think we're gonna take them to this GIANT pool we have at our community YMCA with a big slide (kind of like at a water park) and toadstools and water shooters, etc. J especially will have fun with that, as it's just up a 9-year-old's alley.
Today I had a teaching session with my very first JLS Transcription Academy client! We had a 2-hour session, and it was VERY successful! He was really excited to start learning and had even read the first two chapters in our text before the class! I was really impressed and had fun teaching him everything I know. This is going to be a great review for myself as well. As a medical transcriptionist, you can't have too many facts floating around in your head about medical words and terms!
I'm mostly excited about the extra income this is going to give me this month. Gas prices are HORRIBLE, and I can't even imagine what it is like for families who have one or both people driving to and from work every day out of the house. Thank God M and I work from home for the most part. He takes trips to New Jersey, but much less than he used to since the economy started faltering. We just can't afford that many trips back and forth these days!
He won a tournament this evening! He won the 11 a.m. tournament at the Borgata! Yeay! He cashed for $500... well, actually chopped with 2 other people. But, that is just great! It's just the thing he needed to lift his spirits and keep him going when this job just drags you down sometimes.
Tonight I have been working at ChaCha.com. I've only been doing searches for about 3 nights and have already made $100! Yes! This is just excellent. I really think things are going to start looking up for me and M. We were having some pretty bad financial problems there for about 2 months, but it looks like things are getting back to normal again. M also go a call back from the guy we were talking to a the newspaper about a nightly newspaper route for the two of us to share. :) We'll see what happens with that. Have any of you ever had a newspaper delivery route before? What is it like? How much money can you make each month doing that? We are night owls, so a job like that wouldn't phase us in the least. We are actually looking forward to the time we get to spend together in the car delivering our papers.
I'm planning an article about JLS Transcription Academy, and I think I'm going to start working in earnest to get my website up and going. My website is www.learningmt.com. I have no clue whether it is even up right now, but you can always check it out if you like. :) I'll be keeping my fellow Gatherites up-to-date on the progress of my MT business. Look for my article in the next couple of days about my teaching!
