As so often happens this tim eof year in South Florida we had a thunderstorm this afternoon. This wasn't the usual quick light storm though, this came in quick and packed some torrential rain and high winds with it. It must have lasted almost an hour, with several bouts of thunder and lightning, and then it sort of settled down a bit.
Next thing I knew, there was a tremendous flash that lit up the room and the whole sky, and at exactly the same time a huge bang and crash like a cannon going off.
I pretty much leapt off the couch, shouted out a 4-letter word as I jumped, and my head almost exploded with the shock. I had the webcam active to my girlfriend in England, and she heard it too, it even made her jump.
Have you ever had something make you jump so much that it gives you a headache? Because whether it was the change in pressure or just the loud noise, I got this immediate headache, and 5 hours later, despite having taken pain killers and having done everything normal like eating and taking sinus medication, it's still thumping away.
I was wondering whether either a storm or a shock has ever done that to you?
