I knew the man who was stabbed to death in China

I haven't had my TV on so it took me awhile to realize the man who was stabbed to death in China was THAT Bachman, of the Minneapolis nursery/flower shop.  I didn't know him like a "friend" and I'm sure he didn't know me AT ALL, and I didn't ever see him at Bachman's (I go there sometimes for plants) but I saw him over the years at the Minneapolis Art Institute. When people like him are there at special musical functions (or openings of galleries, or whatever) you know who they are, they are the social stars.  I was just always the "crowd scene" - ha ha.  Anyway it's creepy that he should have something so violent and awful happen to him in a place like China when those violent attacks happen far more frequently in Minneapolis.

This is a sad, sad story. That family was probably so happy to be at the Olympics only to have this tragedy happen.

Name dropper or not, it is so sad. Of all of the bad things that you think could happen on a trip to China, I would never have thought of something so shocking.

It is certainly a sad happening, and one that touches us all as Americans, I think because it wasn't just on a trip but a trip to the Olympics.

i haven't had the news on all day, so thanks for the information, I will now be sure to watch the 11 PM news and see what happened, How sad to take a trip and have something like this happen. Makes you wonder,

It certainly was a terrible thing that happened, and such an awful way for the Olympics to start. I feel so badly for his family, and his wife who seems to be seriously hurt as well. It is horrible.

This is a heart break for the USA and for China. Proof once again that no matter how much effort is put out bad things can leak in. May we never tire of putting forth great effort to keep the bad out of our world.
