Book Review: Icebound by Dean Koonz
This is the Dean Koonz I remember from many years ago, pure adventure and clandestine goodies. It's a real cliff hanger, too, with all the "and thens ..." right up until the very satisfying climax and rather delightful denouement. It isn't deep reading by any stretch, but I did learn a bit about the Arctic, submarines and other things, which is always a plus for me (I like my new knowledge sugar coated with decent fiction, when I can get it), and definitely satisfies the yen for adventure opera. I am rather glad I read it when the outside temperature was in the 90s, though ...somehow comforting, considering that most of this book took place at temps around 40 below!
