Cropping. It's a good way to get the most out of your photography. This is a series of crops I did of a single photograph to highlight different parts of the original.Just about any photo editing program should let you crop with ease. I use the UNDO button a lot when cropping until I get the look I want. These were edited with Corel Photo Album 6.
I started with this photograph of the leaf of a weed.

The first crop I did was to emphasize the pattern of veins on the leaf.

The second one shows the texture of the underside of the leaf.

And finally, a crop that focuses on the serrated edge of the leaf.
