Chandler's Lemonade Stand Adventure... A photo essay

Last week, Chandler set up a lemonade stand in our driveway to help earn some money for his new 4-wheeler.  We live on a private dirt road and honestly I was expecting him to earn about $10 or so each day.  Well, it was a HUGE success and he had fun with it!

He set up on Thursday afternoon from 3 - 5 pm.  Within 5 minutes of being open, he had 9 customers!  Stephy helped by handing him cups and putting his money in their lunch box.  While Chandler poured the lemonade and handed them to his customers.  On Thursday, he made $24!

He set up again on Friday afternoon, same time... same place. This time he made $13.  For a total of $32 in total sales.  He paid $7 for supplies, so he made a total of $25 profit selling lemonade!  Plus Daddy matches what he earns, giving him another $25.

We went 4 wheeler shopping over the weekend and he found the one he wants.  They were out of stock and have a new shipment coming in later this week!  Looks like I will be posting a 4 wheeler article early next week, keep an eye out for that photo essay!

Teaching your son to earn the money for what he wants is admirable, but did I miss a photo essay on the lemonade sale for charity he MUST have done in order to qualify for the free lemonade stand from Country Time? As I remember on their website, you had to tell them what you intended to do for any charity of your choice with the profits from the stand in order to be approved to recieve one." With their parent's or legal guardian's permission, kids ages 7-12 are eligible to receive a stand after they submit their brief, 100-word pledge describing how they plan to operate their stand to benefit a charity.
The program gives parents a great tool to teach their kids the importance of philanthropy and volunteerism.
