A New Kind of Ice Cream Truck
by Marilyn Mackenzie
A few weeks ago, as hubby and I sat on our front porch, we heard some music in the distance. It kind of reminded us of the music from an ice cream truck, except that it was a gazillion times better. After a while, a truck drove by our house, and sure enough it was a new kind of ice cream truck. On the side it said Tropical Shaved Kona Ice.
The music was awesome. Usually ice cream trucks play some horribly tinny music. Last year, there were two or three trucks that came by our house. They all played the same horrible music.
But this truck was different. I do wish I had a digital video camera, so I could share the music with you. It had a Calypso or Caribbean beat and tone to it. We heard, "Don't Worry, Be Happy" and "This Little Light of Mine" played with that Calypso beat. There was another song as well, but it was one that hubby and I didn't recognize.
We told our neighbors next door (who have two small kids) about the new ice cream truck, but they had not seen or heard it. And neither did we again.
..........Until yesterday!..........

Wow! I was looking at the prices too! They've gone up. I don't remember paying $2 for ice cream when I was little. Is it really that expensive?
