Everything Glorious

Ahh yeah!  Just had a great meeting with my friend, and am reminded that God makes everything glorious, and that includes me!!!  Hell Yeah!  Apart from Christ, I am a sinner, wrecked and abandoned.  I am in rebellion against the God who created me in His image.  However, in the midst of my sin, in the midst of my rebellion, he sent his son to rescue the human race from their sin and bondage and now we are free!  We are no longer slaves, but Sons and Daughters of the Living God!!!!!!  Sometimes, you just gotta shout this out you know? 

I can get caught in the day to day grind forgetting what is real.  My wife fights this all the time.  She has to fight the lie that her image and her looks are how God views her.  And so, we get duped into buying beauty products like Dermablend cosmetics and others.  We find ourselves buying the latest fashionable bags.  "I have to have Mcklein briefcases to fit into the business world."  Bull Shit!  Who am I trying to please here?  Where does my existence begin and end?  I should be concerned with one thing and one thing only - glorifying my Savior.  My worth comes from the fact that I am made in the image of God.  And that is enough to humble the greatest King and raise the lowest begger's head, if I could paraphrases Lewis.  Is beauty or appearance important?  Maybe to a degree.  My God is an artist and he loves beauty, and therefore I should pursue it as it glorifies him, but never as an idol.
