Beach Vacation is almost over

My beach vacation is coming to the end. I've been here for almost two weeks and I go home on Saturday.

I'm staying in a cute little cottage right on the beach. I leave the window open all night and listen to the waves. In the morning I wake up to the waves and the seagulls.

The first week, our family had five cottages. We played in the sand and the water and had big bar-b-ques at night.  We walked to the harbor for fish and chips and we walked to the pier for shakes at Ruby's Diner. We took long nightly bike rides. We had campfires and made s'mores. We took the kids fishing on the pier. We rented waverunners and went out in the ocean.

This week, I am here alone. My husband is coming back down tonight. He had to work the rest of the week.

I enjoyed both weeks. The first week was busy with everyone here. The second was just me and the beach. I am sitting on my front porch as I write this. I'm looking at the sand and the ocean and listening to the waves. It is great.

Soon I will be home, making plans for next summer at the beach.
