How is your neighborhood doing? Have you been hit with crime? Is it healthy? How do you define a healthy neighborhood?

Then there were the vicious beatings in Coon Rapids earlier this summer. That kind of gang activity - in Coon Rapids? What gives?
Diana, it is the result of a conscious program to move low-income residents out of the inner-cities. Take a look at press-releases from the Met Council and from various cities regarding development plans. You will notice quotas for "affordable housing".
You will also notice a corresponding rise in housing vouchers issued in the suburbs.
In the end, I do not know if it is a bad thing or a good thing. I applaud any effort to reduce the critical mass of crime - BUT all too frequently this effort results in high concentrations of low-income housing in the burbs....and that is a problem.
