Gather Community

I joined this Gather Community in May of 2007. People have come and people have gone, just like any other city, town or neighborhood. There are some people who get cranky and annoy others. There are some people who are the kindest people you'll ever meet. There are all kinds of people on gather, from all walks of life. They live all over the world and come from different races, religions, backgrounds and lifestyles. Just like any other neighborhood.

Gather provides us all a unique opportunity here to express our views and opinions. We can inform, entertain, amuse and educate here. From lovely poems of love to intriguing who done it mysteries, you can find it all on gather.  There are zillions of articles old and new you'll find. If you like someone's style of writing look up their work and see what else they have posted. In the 15 months I have been here I have 57 pages of titles of the work I have posted. Now consider all the people here and there must be more to read here than one could do in a life time.  There is no reason to come to this website and say you are bored.

Photos and videos are great to view too. There are recipes and current events, I can't list it all. There is so much to do and read....

Now some do not like the games that some post. I for one love them.  Now why you may ask do I want to spend my time listing words that start with the letter s or making words out of the phrase "Gather makes my life better"...?  I watched Alzheimers ravage my Mothers brain for many years until she died in 2003. Playing these games are a challenge to me, to see how fast I can do them and I feel like they are a great exercize for my brain.  Just like warming up may not seem so exciting before a big game...it is a necessary practice to play better as you are prepared.  I find that when I think of a word and it isn't spelled right, I look for the correct spelling and in turn my spelling has improved enormously.

The best part of Gather is the Gather Community. The people on Gather are the best. Now some great friendships have been made here. But understand, Gather is kind of like a local meeting ground. People will be happy when you show up...but when you don't they will wonder where you are, but will figure you are busy. Don't be upset if you get ill and not one went looking for you....this is the kind of place where we respect that people come on and off when they can.  It doesn't mean we don't care.

We all have our emergencies and problems and sometimes getting to Gather is not possible. Life happens and we all understand that. 

Gather has made some changes and sometimes adjustment is not easy. Sometimes Gather makes decisions we are not happy with.  This happens everywhere else we go in life too.  We can only decide if we want to stay with it and adjust or go.  No place is perfect and you just have to decide if the good you get out of this site is worth what you don't like about it.

My feelings are to live and let live.  If I see things I don't like, I get out of the article and look at something else.  If there is someone I don't like or don't like how they treat others, I stay out of their way.  If people don't like what I write, that is their choice too. I don't take much personal here, as it is what it is... a site over the internet.

For me I try to write to uplift and help others. It is also a good outlet for my feelings and I feel the time I have spent writing here has helped me to become a better writer. Like anything else in life, I think you will get out of it what you put into it.

If you are new to Gather I welcome you and I hope you like it here. If you have been here awhile, I hope you will stay awhile and help keep this community growing and glowing!!!
