"What are you doing?"
"Packing!"
"What for?"
"What day is it?"
"Saturday. And?"
"Ugh!"
"Oh..."
"That's it? Oh?"
"Well, she only comes once a week!"
"Yeah. The only day I have off!"
"Listen, I don't complain about your relatives."
"They know their boundaries."
"And mine don't?"
"Just one!"
"Not fair."
"And it's fair for your mother to come every Sunday? She complains about my cooking, my clothes, my job!"
"Well..."
"I'm out!"
"Wait. I'll call her..."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
***********
"I'm sorry, Mom. Steve has a headache. Next week? ...Okay..."
"I can't believe you, Donna!!!!"
"Wait!"
"I'm Gone!"

It is funny but true for so many.
I actualy look forward to my motherinlaw coming, but she only comes to visit once a year.
When my folks were alive it would have been my Father that I was complaining about visiting not my mom.
Nice job Ruthe
Here's the background:
She can't cook a lick! And was a pampered, spoiled, Mama's girl. (Her mother really is a pill!!) He was raised by a single father, and had to learn to cook for him and his brothers. How they got together....? I must admit, it was me!! =) They seemed just right. Balancing one another out. I spent a lot of time their first year together helping to calm the waters, including handling the Mom. "Donna" is her only daughter.
Happy to say, it has been six years, and they are going strong! Now the mother only comes once in a while. (She has a new husband!!!) Thank God! Funny thing...Her husband's a Mama's boy at 55! And they now go to HER mother-in-laws house for Sunday dinner! LOL! Talk about Karma? She complains about her all the time!!! I couldn't have made up a better story myself!!! Life is often funny!!!
Thank you, Anita.
Thanks, Patricia!
