I'm so lucky to have a cheap theater here in town. It's the only way that my husband and I go see movies. For the two of us, popcorn, and drinks it's only $12 total. We think that's a pretty good price. On Monday we were able to see the movie Iron Man (finally.) It wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but I thought maybe you guys would like to hear about it for when it comes out on DVD.
Robert Downey Jr. plays Tony Stark who runs a company that creates weapons. He is kidnapped while in Afghanistan demostrating a weapon that he has created. Unfortunately, he's bombed and has shrapnel in him. A fellow prisoner creates a device that hooks up to a battery that keeps the shrapnel in him from going to his heart and killing him. He is ordered to create the weapon that he was demonstrating. First he creates something better for the device in his chest than a portable car battery. A portable energy device. Then instead of creating the weapon, he creates an iron man suit that he can power with his portable battery to escape. Once he is back in America, he tries to right the wrongs that his company has done. He creates a better Iron Man suit and battles against someone he thought was his friend.
This movie certainly has an interesting storyline, and Robert Downey Jr. makes for an interesting superhero. There is enough action to go around, but towards the middle I found myself getting really restless. To me, it seems that the movie was just a little too long. I think they could have shortened it for a better effect. Also, at the end, I thought they left something out because I couldn't figure out how someone survived, and they certainly didn't tell you. I was definitely disappointed because I wanted to know. All in all, it's a pretty good movie that's worth watching, but I didn't think it was anything really stellar. I probably wouldn't want to own it.

As for Downey Jr playing a superhero, I dunno...
