Cooking with Sherry "Trip Around the World" Cooking & Wine Tasting Seminar
Like an old-fashioned progressive party, each course served at our cooking and wine tasting seminar will be from a different place - in this case, a different state or country! We'll start at home with appetizers and wine from St. Ansgar's own Bel Aire Estates Vineyard!. We'll continue our whirlwind tour with "stops" in California (Fresh Broccoli Bisque), Chile (Tossed Green Salad with Grapes, Nectarines & Spiced Honey Dressing and Zucchini Quickbread), Argentina (Pastel de Pappas and Chicken with Rosemary, Apples and Wine), Germany (Rotkohl), Spain (Paella) and New Zealand (Open Crab Sandwiches, Raspberry Kisses and Kiwi Biscuits). Our "tour guide", Bruce Long of Hy-Vee West Wine and Spirits, Mason City, will serve hand-picked wines from each country to compliment each course of our dinner. Time: 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Cost $45.00 each or $85 per couple.
Friday, September 26, 2008
Guitarist, vocalist Joe Paulik from Tofte, MN will serenade dinner guests with folk music and favorites from the Beatles, Don McLean, Gordon Lightfoot and more. Time: 6:30 p.m. Cost: $25.95
