Are you in or around Portland, Ore., and looking for a way to support a good cause?
There's a benefit fundraiser this Sunday for Eric Davidson, a bicyclist hit by a car May 10 in my neighborhood. He's recovering from his injuries in a nursing home, but the expenses to his wife and family have been massive. Any help, either in donations of auction items or attendance at the event, would be greatly appreciated.
This Benefit Fundraiser for Eric Davidson is 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 10, at Fremont Ridge Pub & Grill, 5103 N.E. Fremont Street, Portland, Ore. Tickets are $10 at the door, which entitle holders to bid on any of the auction items and eat free at the all-you-can-eat barbecue.
All proceeds from the auction and all net proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Davidson family. Auction items include a Sun-brand Boardwalk cruiser bicycle, power lawn mower, 400-square-feet of wood floor refinishing, gift baskets and gift certificates from area merchants and restaurants. E-mail Michael at nwjc@comcast.net with questions.
BTW, you can read up on Eric Davidson's recovery progress at his wife's blog, http://aceanderic.wordpress.com/.
