missiles, supersonic airplanes, big bombs,
cannot find the deadly Taliban in their caves or
mountain hide-aways. we can’t fight gorillas
nowadays. we won the revolution with similar tactics.
another Vietnam? perhaps, but more. is it worth it?
for what? to stalemate the Pakistanis? block
the Russians in the area? they could not tame
the Taliban in a ten year war of attrition. can we?
how much money is this futile effort costing us?
does this campaign endear us to our UN
allies? do the precious lives of our soldiers
and Marines mean so little? let’s get out!
maybe an atomic bomb would settle
the matter. then all we would have
to worry about would be fallout and Iran!
can’t we realize we will never win?
what would winning mean, anyway?
one more ally in a totally screwed-up world.
one more time we declare victory over
dictatorship? can’t we ever learn?

On a lighter note, you know it has been said that if we really wanted to find Bin Laden, we'd send his college alumni association after him.
The United States has no business invading other countries that did nothing to provoke us. Neither Afghanistan nor Iraq attacked us in any way.

Just imagine if it had been Clinton or Obama who said that or who invited the Taliban into the White House or financed them like Reagan did. The Republicans and their allies in the controlled reich wing news media would have a field day exploiting it.
In 1922 the Republicans created the Soviet state, in the 30s Prescott Bush and his allies created the Nazi state, in the 50s they gave us Castro, in the 70s they legitimated the communist state in Beijing, in the 80s they armed Saddam and gave us the Taliban and al Qaeda. What is the next menace that the Republicans will create?
