Oh, I was so in my glory at the checkout last night.
Here are some of my greatest savings:
I got two tubes of Crest toothpaste FREE (reg. $2.99; onsale 2/$2; Kroger doubled my "$1 off 2" coupon).
I got two Ken's Lite spray dressings FREE (similar savings to above).
I got four boxes of Kellogg's cereal for $.50 each.
onsale $2 each = $8 total
used 2 $1 off of 2 coupons, which Kroger doubled = $4 total
Then, I got $.50 off each box for buying ten participating items, making it $2 total!
My daughter loves Frosted Mini-Wheats, so she's in heaven.
I got the same savings on Nutrigrain Bars, Rice Krispy Treats (we'll take with us when the whole family goes camping at the end of this month) and Eggo Waffles--all $.50 per box!
PLUS, these purchases go towards a $10 rebate I got in yesterday's paper--I have to send in 10 UPC codes, and I'll get a check for $10. What cracks me up is I only spent $5.00 total on the whole ten items! Kellogg's is paying me to eat their products!
As always, we only bought meat that was on sale. We got two packs of the normally very expensive "Laura's" 6% fat ground beef for $2 each! They're $5 normally!
So, we splurged and got the 4 12 packs of Coke products for $12 plus deposits. That was our most expensive purchase. We got a Diet Coke, a Minute Maid, an Iced Tea and a Sprite 12-pack. That'll last us a long time, and I thought it was worth it for $12.
How'd you do?

I have not been grocery shopping much lately, and I think I average about 40 dollars a week, but I only buy the very basics so now big savings for me.
I will not be saving anything on groceries this week because I do not need any. Last week we rented a house for a family reunion and everyone had leftover food and my family was the only ones who drove, so we got to take home a bunch of food that should keep me going at least for this month. Plus I am going to be spending time at my parent's helping out with my brother before and after school starting next week, so I just mooch off them for breakfast and sometimes dinner.
Excellent savings though!
We have several Weis (blech)
and Giant (I work at on saturdays, still blech)..
If I want to drive 13-15 miles, I could go to SuperWal-Mart.. however that rarely happens.
That's one excellent shopping trip. I can't say I ever had one like it!
Thanks for posting to Kids and Grandkids.
