Reason and Passion

Reason and passion need each other to be successful. How easy it is to let one rule over the other.

How easy it is to think things through and be totally logical, putting our true desires on the backburner.

And how easy it is to let our passions consume us without a thought or a care as to what is best.

How difficult to find that perfect balance between the two.

Life is filled with moments of great reason and great passion. In my own life, the two have rarely entertwined.

I know that when, and if, they do...I will have discovered that perfect balance Gibran speaks of.

Great quote! I think as we age we find it easier to step back a minute and weight things and find balance. I like to chose my responses now and not let my first reaction and emotions decide my path, but it is hard to remember. :O

You have highlighted a wonderful passage from The Prophet here. It is a book I treasure. For years, I made a decoupage of the passage On Children and gave it to members of my family when they had their first child.
