Living Statue Entertainers - Barcelona, Spain!

One of the most enjoyable things to do in Barcelona, Spain, is strolling along the popular pedestrian street that leads down to the harbor.  Along the way you encounter what's known as "living statues."  The things people will do to earn a living!!  Dressed in an array of costumes, painted from head to toe, and standing in the heat without moving for hours and hours upon end!  And having your photo taken thousands of times all day long!!  Sound like fun??!!

Each trip to Barcelona has had it's own interesting "creatures."  Some time ago, I posted a few from my first trip which you may have seen.  Here's a sampling from my latest trip:

 

                         I guess they do get to take a break once in a while!!!

Neat pictures thanks for sharing. There was a lady sitting on a bench when we were in Frankenmuth, I was debating with myself if she was real or not. Should have taken her picture, that would had made her move for sure..

They're beautiful. Living statues perform in New Orleans also (during the day) but many of these are much more elaborate.

This is a wonderful photo essay. I have never seen so many in one place. Usually, it's just a single person in a big city. These costumes are amazing too. Thanks for sharing them with us. I haven't been back to Barcelona since my backpacking days post-college. I think I need to return!
