we've been reading the book in detail, poring over recipes, and learning about how to grow different fruits and vegetables. it has been such fun! here are a few photos we took - and one of our tomatoes that we'd planted earlier this summer, in earth boxes. they are taller than i am!

if you have kids who love to be outside, and who love to cook (or want to learn!), i highly recommend this book! we've really been enjoying it.

We were lucky to get the book as well, and we are going to replant the plants today, although they are not big.
My son Anthony started his love affair with growing things when he was just 8 years old and planted his first radishes and nasturtiums..... He loved the idea that you could eat the leaves and flowers of the nasties in salads and the first salad we made after he started harvesting was a VERY peppery one with the leaves and flowers of the nasties and slices of radishes!
Such a lovely day.
We've got lots coming out of the garden, next week - home made salsa - Yee Haw!
she is so lucky to have you and ed - as you are to have her. what a wonderful atmosphere and place she has to grow up in. i love watching her bloom.
(tomatoes are crazy this year - they're loving the warm wet summer we've had in the northeast and are threatening to take over the yard!)
Planting seeds and watching them grow into stuff you can eat is such a great experience.
Kudos to DK for coming up with the idea; and Congrats to you folks for getting a copy and following it through. I can't wait to see the tomatoes.
