I didn't start this battle.

 

I thought you were my partner, the one who would never betray me. You had my trust, and you tossed it aside.

 

I will survive. Oh, I know you won some battles, but you have awakened in me that which I thought forever dead- the will to be. I know you thought you beat it out of me. When that didn't subjugate me enough, you decided to show who was boss by controlling my body.

 

Now, you have awoken that which will not die. I am a mother, and you will NOT hurt my children.

LOL Apryl, it is funny you say that, since when I wrote it down, I had the word cubs instead of children!! You know me too well. I knew you would understand the urge to protect of a mother (and many REAL fathers, or parents in general)

I found the strength to become something I wasn't, a very cocky *itch, to stand up to his abuse and leave. It just him making two mistakes, one was hurting a 2 yr old for running to video games and not listening, and two, he tried to put a wall between me and my best friend, thank you MIssy. I don't like cursing as a general rule, but I actually took pride in that title when he called me that name, because it meant that I was doing the right thing, and he was losing control...

Donna- I think that is true for many people. They would do what they had to protecting their children.

Kay- my children are now 21 and 22, with my son being married. Their father is now in a wheelchair and doesn't understand why, after ignoring them because I wouldn't let him use them to control me, they are not jumping to take care of him, yet they both do what they can for me. He is starting to figure out that the title of Daddy has to be earned.


Jan-It scares me sometimes how much I tolerated saying I wasn't abused. Thank you

Bethany- Actually, there are fathers who have that same instinct and they are not all biological parents either. IT is just the sad ones like this that thinks they are the father because of biology. Thanks
