I've captured several insect photos in the last few days. I thought I would share a few of the better ones together in a photo essay. Most of these shots were taken in my yard.

I've had a lot of butterfies visiting my flowers. They usually fly off way too fast to get a photo. This is one of the few shots that came out ok.

Anyone know what kind of bug this is? I noticed it while at the Home Depot yesterday afternoon.

Bees are fun to watch, especially when they hang upsidedown. This shot was also at the Home Depot.

This is a different photo of the Katydid Nymph that was feasting on my Dahlia plant. I took this one the morning after overnight rain showers.

I love the clarity of the eyes on this bee photo.

This creepy spider has a web near my watering hose. Anyone know what type it is?
Hope you enjoyed the photos.

(did the katydid die a horrible death for munching on your dahlia?)
I haven't seen many butterflies, a few white ones...bubble bees earlier in the year...now we are over run with wasps, mosquitos and flies. Oh yea, I see at least one dragonfly a day, yesterday I saw two...
Beautiful bug photos!
now I'm singing that song...thanks! ;)
Seriously this was a wonderful photo essay. Some of those bugs have such exquisite markings and colors. Great work Marianne! *10*
I have to get out and get some new photos. I have been running crazy around here. Between working, my aunt and the gathering I have been kinda busy.
10 Stars for ya.

Excellent photos though!
Great shots Marianne! I've never seen that type of Katydid before.
And you've posted a couple firsts, I have never seen either of those types that you mentioned.
Great title, BTW!
