I got this really weird email tonight. It is basically telling me that I tried to buy something, but that I have insufficient funds or something. My email program flagged it as having questionable content and kept the links from being accessible to me. I immediately went to my bank account to see if some sort of weird charge was there. What's strange about it is that the amount was for $100.00 even on August 1, 2008. There is no possible way that I made this transaction because I didn't even have that much in my account, and I haven't bought ANYTHING online today. Thank goodness I didn't see anything weird on my bank account. Still.... It makes me feel weird. Maybe I am just getting strange spam from all of the survey sites and clicking I've been doing lately. My worst fear is that someone is trying to access my bank account or my PayPal account! Anyone else get strange emails like this?
I'm copying it below, but erasing my addresses for my own protection here at Gather. (Although, I'm not sure if I'm now a day late and a dollar short on that front now)!

Let me know if you've gotten any weird emails from this company. I'm actually hesitant to even call and find out what it is!

Thank you for posting to tryingfor3000
One warning sign is that they won't use your name. Since they did with this one that was sent to you I would be freaking out! But you should still call your bank to see if someone had attempted to do anything with your account. And call the number on the email, but don't click on any links to be safe.

i got this email but the account it is attached to is only given out to friends and family and one specific online business. this business does indeed process payments for me and i had one payment in the amount listed in the email which was rejected.
i wont list the name of the business or even the industry but jessica you should be able to figure out what it is just based up on that. if not then it is likely a male friend of yours used your account (not porn).
