Guess which Presidential candidate has stood on stage with Paris Hilton?
John McCain.
Guess which Presidential candidate Hilton's grandparents gave over $60,000 to?
John McCain and the republican party.
Her parents have also maxed out on donations to McCain's campaign. Rick Hilton was so enthusiastic about his candidate of choice that, The Times' Tina Daunt reports, federal records show he donated twice as much as the law allows (the campaign returned the excess).
Why would the McCain campaign use the daughter, granddaughter of donors in his ad? We all know Paris Clinton is no Saint. However imperfect she might be. She is a daughter, a granddaughter.
Ask yourself this question. Were she your daughter, would you appreciate McCain using her in a political ad? Were she your daughter and you were a big time donor to McCain and the Republican Party, would you appreciate this kind of payback?
Apparently, it does not matter to John McCain. He would do anything to win. He will use the daughter and granddaughter of donors. That's not off limit. Nothing is off limit if it can advance McCain's cause.
So what happened to a clean campaign?
While nobody was paying attention, John McCain hired some key new players of the Karl Rove School of Defamation and Attack. Expect more of these to come. Nobody is off limit. Even if you voted all your life Republican and maxed out, if they can use you in an Ad or something similar they will. These are the same people who said Cindy McCain had a black child in 2000.
John McCain's family was not off-limit in 2000. Of course a daughter of a donor is not off-limit. Especially if that daughter is Paris Hilton.

Based on this, do you think he will have any say if elected or will it be the third term of whoever is running the show now????
We need a leader, not a follower. John, during this campaign at least, has become a follower. Very sad.
No.
This one was too good to pass on. You need both. Britney and Hilton to make a point. Her parents are donors. Who cares? At this point, less money won't hurt us. Remember, public financing in less than a month. Let's use all the money we collected and go after Barack.
What the Rovians are telling John McCain:
"Trust us John, this works. Why do you think you were not the nominee in 2000? Exactly. Shut up and do as we tell you and you have a good chance of becoming President. We got Bush elected TWICE. If we can elect such a moron, we certainly can get you elected."
The scary part: I think the Rovians are right. They certainly can give him a great shot. This stuff works. I think it's working.
If anyone is a vapid, too rich for thier own good, do-nothing, that person is McCain!
This is a difficult question to answer. Were she my daughter, her career would not have been making a fool of herself. As wrong as this situation seems to me, I can't see that her parents/grandparents have any room to complain since she obviously enjoys being used this way enough to make it her career.
Just to clarify that.
Still McCain is no child. He should not endorse ads using someone like Paris regardless.
For those "she did an ad for McCain". Do you live in this planet? Seen the ad. They used her pic for one second.
Now, if McCain had an ad where Paris performs, he would confirm that he is unfit for President. Wait, he has appeared with her on stage in the past.
I agree that this is wrong. But there are some people who believe all publicity is good. I suspect Paris Hilton might be one of those people. Since she is an adult, this should be her battle and whatever the parents/grandparents suffer is emotional, not legal.
On top that, you take the money of her parents.
That's very conservative!
So using both to mock another is not only distasteful, it shows a complete lack of compassion for two troubled people in addition to a lack of respect for a fellow Presidential candidate. As others have said above, this absolutely and entirely proves the lack of judgment necessary to lead the United States into the future. John should be ashamed, and not even for just "approving" the message (and other mocking and false ads his campaign has aired), but for defending it in public fora.
And worse, airing these ads aren't even being paid for by the campaign. The campaign paid for only 9 airings of the celebrity ad; the rest of the exposure has been at our expense due to John and his campaign hawking it on the "news" outlets for free airing over and over.
I'm incredibly disappointed in John.
