Are you losing comments?

Ever since Gather switched over to this new design, I've seen a major drop in comments to my posts. I've got some with no comments at all. Gather's new design requires extra clicks to get places, and I think they really screwed up on this one. It is now more work just to find articles, and studies have shown that the average Internet user is lazy as hell and would just as soon go elsewhere. I think that's what they are doing.

Have you seen a drop in your comments?

I'd be surprised how many of you actually see this post.

I don't see it as being harder to comment. Rating on the other hand is less user friendly.

I haven't published any articles since the change. But from the flip side, without a continuous comment stream, I am finding fewer articles to comment on.

on older ones yes...also it seems to change back and forth. I'm getting used to the system and the points aren't that important anyway, I'd just like to have decent debates rather than name calling at times...I don't think gather can help with that though.

You hit it on the head. People have very short attention spans. Keep it lean and simple is the way to go. I haven't noticed a change in comments on my end, but I'm spending less time on here lately because it doesn't seem like everything refreshes every 15 minutes like it used to before the change.

I don't see any less comments really and I don't see it as any harder to get to people's content either. I don't know how you guys are used to getting there, but the change didn't effect how I found people's articles, pictures, etc.

I see fewer ratings, probably because the new way is more cumbersome. And it's easy to forget to rate an article.

much as I hate to say it, I think they slmamed the front door on this one.

the old 'newspaper' front page at least had a CHANCE of interesting somebody in what might be inside..

that goofy graphic doesn't even WORK have the time showing photos.

I've come down to about 18-25 folks who seem to read my stuff and comment. Thats ok but it could be better..

Heck I can't even get folks to Help a new Dad name his cock and WIN!

It took me two days just to figure out how to post something on here with this new system. Why is 'Share' under 'Explore'? Makes no damn sense!
