Un-updated Sites

So I was search the web for cool sites like I normally do and I came across Free Dream Journal Project.  This sites looks cool and has some pretty interesting features.  Then I noticed that no really activity has happened in well over a year!  Even the contest still says June 2007.  I've ditched plenty of interesting projects in the past but I wonder what the reason for this was and if it could be brought back to life.  It makes me sort of sad to see it just sitting around like that.

Have any of you discovered interactive sites you liked only to find out they hadn't been updated in a long time?

When I was looking at cameras earlier, Most of the sites, besides the manufacturer had the old models and no info on the new models. This happens a lot. I guess it's just like sites where people join and go to everyday for months then stop and never go back. Some of the sites are totally cool and I would love if they were kept active. We get bored too easily as humans, since there is always something better, brighter and newer around the corner...

I don't think web sights go away, seems like they just get abandoned.
I have found pen pal sites like that. :(

I've had a couple of sites I visit/used to visit and they're no longer updated. Most of them are fanmade websites dedicated to characters from books or general websites. There's one I used to really like, germanmetal.com and it went offline with the message "Coming back soon" for two years. I logged on recently and low and behold it was back!
