One of my favorite places on Earth.
I know, pathetic... but true.
I spend so much time at Target that my children think you can get anything there - and I do mean anything!
Case and point, this classic family story.
When my son Sam was about two years old, we were having a deep conversation about family... specifically family names. I was explaining to him, that when I was a little girl my name was Pam Powell. The same last name as his Grammy Elaine, Auntie Julie and Uncle Andy. But when I got married, I changed my name to Johnston. That's why both Mommy and Daddy share the same last name. I explained that traditionally, when girls grow up and get married they take their husband's last name. Boys get to keep their last names forever.
As you might imagine, this is a big idea for a little kid. So, I continued my explanation.
I told Sam that when his Auntie Janice was a little girl, her name was Janice Johnston but now her name is Janice Huston. I asked Sam, "Where you do think Auntie Janice got the name Huston?"
He sat there, looked at me, and considered this question for quite a few moments before his face lit up with the realization that he had the answer!
"Target!" he said "She got her name at Target!"
I rolled on the floor laughing! Of course, it makes total sense. You get everything at Target. That must be where Auntie Janice got her name!
That's my personal favorite Target story... what's yours? Share it with your fellow Target fans in the new group ilovetarget.gather.com

Full of half truths and lies, it easily corrupts those too young to know the truth about the many things that unions have given us, such as the 5 day workweek and the 40 hour week.
Shame on Target, I thought you were better than Walmart *
Laura, I agree. Target is a lot better, most of the time.
The closest target is about an hour's drive from me, so I don't go there very often. I used to be a frequent Target shopper, however, when I lived in the Twin Cities.
For the clothing and shoes, well, the items I get at Target do last longer than the items from Walmart. You get what you pay for.
That is a very cute story. It looks like you have someone else hooked on Target to. Lol.
